Humberston Fitties Beach is a serene stretch of golden sand located at the southern end of Cleethorpes, bordered by groynes and backed by sand dunes. Positioned between the Saltmarsh, Marine Embankment, and the Humber Mouth Yacht Club, this peaceful beach is ideal for nature lovers and those seeking a more laid-back coastal experience.

The surrounding Humberston Fitties area is known for its historic holiday chalets and the larger Thorpe Park caravan site, adding a nostalgic charm to the landscape. On clear days, visitors can enjoy stunning views of Haile Sand Fort and Bull Sand Fort, two World War II structures guarding the mouth of the River Humber, as well as distant views of Spurn Point across the water.

While there are few facilities at the beach, this only enhances its unspoiled appeal. It’s a popular spot for kite surfers, thanks to ideal breezy conditions, and the area is also frequented by dog walkers, cyclists, and bird watchers. The public bridleway atop the sea defense runs the entire length of the beach, offering a scenic walking path with multiple access points.

Beach access is available via Marine Walk car park (St Anthony’s Bank), located near the former Pleasure Island site and accessible from Kings Road. Various sand and concrete slipways, along with mid-way metal steps, lead down to the beach with gentle gradients for easier access.

Though public toilets aren’t available, paying customers can use facilities at the Humber Mouth Yacht Club and Thorpe Park. The yacht club also offers moorings and storage for a range of vessels, from fishing boats to sailing dinghies, and welcomes visiting sailors.

Dogs are welcome on Humberston Fitties Beach year-round, though care should be taken to keep them under control to protect ground-nesting birds. If unsure about recall, keeping dogs on a lead is recommended.
